My husband recently entered a bake-off among the cast and crew of Motown: The Musical at the Oriental Theater in Chicago. Bless his heart, he felt he should enter my corn bread. I told him, Hey, it’s just the Better Homes & Gardens cookbook recipe. Then he made a couple of batches just for rehearsal. Turns out, it’s kind-of not their recipe after all. The differences are mostly in the process, plus, more butter. So here it is.
