Book View Cafe members are well represented on Locus Magazine‘s 2015 Recommended Reading List.
Vonda N. McIntyre’s “Little Sisters,” a Book View Café Original, is on the short story list.
Linda Nagata’s Going Dark, the third book in her Red Trilogy, is on the science fiction list. It is published by Saga Press.
Nancy Jane Moore’s The Weave, a science fiction novel published by Aqueduct Press, is one of the first novel selections.
And Chaz Brenchley’s “‘The Astrakhan, the Homburg, and the Red Red Coal,” published in Lightspeed, is a novelette selection.
At least a couple of BVC members are also represented in anthologies on the recommended reading list. Ursula K. Le Guin has a story in Sisters of the Revolution and Linda Nagata has one in Operation Arcana.
Locus uses its recommended reading list to “seed” its ballot for the Locus Awards. Both subscribers and non-subscribers can vote for these awards, though subscriber votes count double.
