For me, the best part of an SF convention is the people. Everybody’s free to just hang out and be themselves. No matter who you are.
And no matter who you want to be.
And you’ve got a fantastic, supportive community, even if you have some self-esteem issues.
Of course, old friends get a chance to catch up.
And I was really excited to get to see other members of BVC. Like Laura Anne Gilman, who always sets such a classy tone for any event.
Although, as a former editor, LAG has to be careful about public appearances. She never knows when she’ll run into somebody she rejected.
