Update: Pard and the Time Machine

Pard and the Time Machine

In an earlier blog post* I described my cat’s relationship to the Time Machine that sits on my desk keeping tabs on what goes on in my computer. When both Pard and the Time Machine were younger, it often made faint clickety buzzing noises, which convinced him that it it contained beetles. A reasonable assumption, since our house swarmed with box-elder beetles that year, and they did get into everything. He enjoyed hunting them. All the sluts at once

I’ve really loved writing these books. They’re funny and feminist and fantastical and finally off my desk, featuring succubi, shoes, and shopping, massive quantities of food and controlled substances, boots-on-the-ground empowerment, all-girl hot tubbing, riot-grrl rage, rollicking, revenge, renewal, rejoicing, and six women who find out what they’re made of by making themselves into something totally other. My first lesbian love story, Coed Demon Sluts: Amanda

Coed Demon Sluts: Amanda by Jennifer Stevenson

This story is less boffo than the first three Slut adventures mostly because Amanda needs to travel such a long way from numbness to love. I found myself siding with Cricket a lot, prodding Amanda emotionally in the middle of the night, tickling her sense of humor, luring her into the woods, leading by following, crashing around in her life like upbeat ball-lightning, tempting her to live a little. Continue reading

All the sluts: the hinky side of women’s fiction

I’m so excited about this series launch, I’m squeaking like a mouse. Also bouncing. Coed Demon Sluts was conceived at the point when I realized that my last series, Slacker Demons, was leaving the lair of the incubi empty. I’d … Continue reading

Tremontaine: When Collaboration Really Works

I find all kinds of collaborations interesting, from the centuries-long shared-world collaboration of Arthuriana among Europeans to the amazing Mahabharata of India.
