The Del Rey/LucasBooks contest is over and a name has been chosen for the novel previously known in-house as “Holostar.”
The name is …. (a little scone on a drum, please)
STAR WARS: SHADOW GAMES
SHADOW GAMES is even now sitting on the desk of our able Lucas liaison, Sue Rostoni awaiting her stamp of approval (we hope). And now I can tell you a little more about the book and its cast of characters.
We have Dash Rendar, of course—smuggler, loner, man-with-a-past.
We have his droid side-kick, LEB02D9 (aka, Leebo), whose personality was programmed by a stand-up comic … a bad stand-up comic.
We have Dash’s Nautolan co-pilot and navigator, Eaden Vrill, who is a man of few words and a master of the martial art of teräs käsi. A rather enigmatic fellow.
And we have the holostar, herself—the lovely Javul Charn. No pictures of her, yet. But she’s a bit of a chameleon.
And then, Dash’s foil—the old scoundrel himself—Han Solo. Who features prominently in our YouTube video, “Wastin’ Away on Tatooine.”
That’s the main cast. There are other key characters, of course, human and alien, nefarious and noble.
And there is the story, which Michael and I constructed with our favorite roller-coasters in mind.
The book will be released next fall and will appear in bookstores near you.

This sounds great! I’m really looking forward to it, and will definitely be picking it up next fall!
…Also, I’d like to take this moment and do a little self-congratulating.
Let me point out that in June of last year, I predicted that Han Solo would be in this novel on Ms. Bohnhoff’s “A Padawan’s Journal” #13 (http://bookviewcafe.com/blog/2010/07/28/a-padawans-journal-entry-12-sidekicks%E2%80%94not-just-plucky-comic-relief/). You can all save your applause for later.
